The LWVAA
Healthcare Committee hosted our November 13th meeting with a showing of Salud!, a
film on Cuba's healthcare system followed by a discussion with Dr. C. William
Keck, MD, MPH (Master of Public health), ACPM (Fellow of the American
College of Preventive Medicine), Professor and Associate Dean of the
Department of Community Health Sciences at the Northeastern Ohio
Universities College of Medicine, and former Director of Health for the City
of Akron.
Dr Keck is a
co-producer of this educational film which explores the Cuban healthcare
system and it's positive impact around the world. As a young doctor, he
served in the Peacecorp in Boliva which prompted a lifelong interest and
involvement in global healthcare. For additional information, refer to the
